intel core 2 duo processor + compatible heatsink

600W power supply (antec if you can)

Graphics card (7900 GT(X) would collect your needs from the games you mention, the 8800GTX would chomp through half your budget)

socket 775 motherboard (newest 680i chipset or something)

2GB DDR2 memory (matching the FSB of the processor)

Hard disk (serial ATA)

DVD writer drive

A nouns card (sound blaster X-Fi is a good price)

A baggage (maybe a cheaper one so you can invest more in the rest)

A 5ms viewsonic 19" monitor (if you inevitability one)



Balance the cost and make a compromise between price and actions and you should be able to build a see *** system for $1500. If you can't be bothered to build one then buy an XPS and bring the extended warranty cos they suck!

HP's are pretty perfect computers
You could buy 2 compaq presarios for that price. Compaq's are good, HP's are better tho, even tho their necessarily the same company.
A Dell XPS is a apposite computer you can get for around $1500. It's great for gaming, too.
Compaq Pissaro are excellent desktop computers.

they own 24/7 technical support. the best retail store too grasp a Compaq Pissaro is Wal-Mart. The cost of my Compaq Pissaro cost $398. around that price range.
