What's the difference between a Core Dual and a Core 2 Duo processor, and which is better?

I'm trying to build my own PC and I'm not sure which processor is better.

What's the difference between a Core Dual and a Core 2 Duo processor, and which is better?

A core Dual CPU is like one apple, and a Core 2 Duo CPU is two apples. Although 2 Core Duo is one CPU, its dramatization is twice the speed of a Core Dual CPU.



Anybody who says Core Dual CPU is for notebook doesn't know crap about computer... Both desktop and Notebooks use Core 2 Duo CPU
Core Duo are for Notebooks/Laptops



Core 2 Duo are for Desktops.
Core 2 Duo is a description of a Dual Core Processor

They are both Dual Core processors (two cores on one CPU) they are also both intel CPUs. Core duo be the first model line up so it be released earlier; it uses more power and have lower memory and clock speeds than the core 2 duo. Core 2 Duo is simply the new and enhanced line of intel processors. It's specialty is low power consumption making it just the thing for laptops. Go with the core 2 duo.



Great perception building your own PC. I personally perfer AMD 64 CPUs for desktops because right immediately they are dead cheap (less than $99) and because they pack more punch than Intel for games and photoshop.
