When and how is the best time to capture a better price contained by desktop notebook and notebook?

I'm thinking of buying a notebook either desktop or notebook, but the price scare me. I do know that holidays are the best time to get it, but it's already sold out by the time I get there. I'm not professional within buying those stuffs and wish someone will lend a hand me out.

Please give me ur opnions, and it will really be functional.

Now and over the next 8 weeks as Windows Vista rolls out is a great time to buy a clean PC. Retailers will be clearing out computers with Windows XP (which will still be around for several years) to gross room for the new ones next to Windows Vista. You can put windows XP on an Apple MacBook (which for my money is the best laptop out right immediately... you also might want to look at Dell's refurbished computers, Apple also has them too.

A lot depends on what you will use the computer for. if Gaming is the primary use then buying the up-to-the-minute and greatest is the way to jump, or the best you can afford. Now if its just for surfing the net and doing homework, E-Mail that sort of thing, you should check out the Used Market/Online Auctions.
