When i put my notebook into standby, it comes put money on on a few second following - why??

I enjoy broadband with BT and it's other on - i don't disconnect from it, could this have something to do beside it? Sometimes it does stay in standby mode, but 9 times out of 10 it simply comes back on again.

When i put my notebook into standby, it comes put money on on a few second following - why??

In your power settings you can specify what processes can 'un-hybernate' your computer. I suspect near is a service or process running the background that make a request and 'wakes up' the PC.

This can be handles two ways. One is to revise the hybernate/power settings in the control panel to bound the processes that can 'wake up' the PC. The other is to determine the background process that keep waking up the PC. I would suggest you investigate the 2nd substitute as it appears there may be something running within the background that may or may not be something you want it to do (ie, Virus, SpamBot, etc.).

Good luck and I hope this help!
it's missing you
If you bump the desk or the mouse, then the system will come out of standby, as the mouse input wake it up again.
Instead of standby: when presented with the option standby, restard, shut down hold the shift key, the standby substitute should change to hibernate, clicking this will close your computer but remember what programs you own on, what your listning to etc..and it wont get effect by a nocked mouse or keyboard
mine does this if i even breathe on it! freshly back away slowly when you hold put it on standby.
any motion of the mouse..ranging from you stepping away or something or even dust (if optical) can create it to notice a movement of the mouse which next brings it out of standbye
