I currently hold a celeron d cpu running at 2.4 GHz. Will a Pentium 4 cpu run on this systemand if so what type of socket does it support?

more than likely its a 478 ... if you can find 1 it should work ... you could other take the warmness vent and heat sink stale .. it will say which socket it is on the socket itself
