What type of motherboard should i move about for?

If you want to use this laptop for gaming, I wouldn't go near an AMD right now. I take in the love and loyalty as I usually feel like peas in a pod way. However, intel core 2 is the mode to go at the moment.

For a large end laptop i would do core2 e6600 with asus 680i board. (this will breed you go nvidia instead of ati) For video on nvidia 8800 GTS should do. For HDD run 1 raptor 150gb for system and 1 seagate 750gb for everything else!
A) AMD has be passed by the Intel Core 2 Duo

B) Crossfire sucks
high close AMD? Try this

AMD x2 6000+ am2

Mushkin 4x2gb DDR2 1000mHz

2x ATI X1950XTX in crossfire

2x WD Raptor 150gb surrounded by RAID 0 for the OS

3x Sea gate 7200.10 750 gb HDD surrounded by RAID 5 for storage

Antec Nine Hundred Case.

mother board..DFI, Asus, or MSI. and go beside nvidia chipset and gpu. THe crossfire just doesn't attain the job done on the AMD base boards.
