What's a Dell v92 Data/Fax modem?

I am currently contained by the process of building a Dell Pc and want to know what a v92 Data/Fax Modem is, it takes up 1 PCI slot on my Pc and i own 2 PCI slots.

Should i or should i not get a modem?

Dell V.92 Fax/Modem is a PCI modem card which is used to connect to internet if you are going to use a dial up nouns for internet. But if you are using a high speed or broadband internet nouns then V.92 Fax/Modem is not required on the computer. It is used alongwith a cell phone, but if you are connecting to internet using another device like an external modem or cable later it is not required to have the V.92 modem. And beside a dial up connection the internet connectivity is slow within comparision to broadband connection.
Its a phone modem for dialup service! If you dont use dialup, you dont involve it.
The Dell computer comes with the Network adapter and the facts fax modem. If you are using the Dial Up connection you requirement the Dell V92 Data fax Modem to establish the connection to the Internet. If you enjoy a high speed nouns you need the meet people adapter(Ethernet Adapter) to connect the computer to the Internet.



The V92 modem may be inbuilt on the mother board or can be a PCI card installed in the PCI slots on your domestic device. In your case it is a PCI Modem card. You can use it or if you are not using the dial Up nouns you can remove the PCI card and can use the slot for some other purpose like installing some other PCI card on that finicky slot.
