nearby right the amd will destroy the p4 for one it 64 bit and it dual core the p4 is 32 bit and single core
u should jump for the p4 if u want overall speed and performance focused on a single program because it have a higher clock speed.but because the amd have a dual core it devides the work amongst the 2 cores so it can give moderate speed 2 multiple programs running at duplicate time with little reading decrease
