My comp. aficionado or fans become loud all of a sudden. I turned the comp past its sell-by date and waited 24 hours beforehand turning it on again. A error message came up that said problem beside dev.(something)( forgot what file extenson it said.) I have it on for about a partially hour and now it is quieter than past it got loud. I hold a Dell demension about 5 years frail Pent. 4 processor, 512 RAM, Nivida Gforce 4 graphics card, 80 gig thorny drive. Someone please help me!!!!!!!!

what would motive a computer disciple to return with loud and afterwards dormant again?

Some systems in truth speed up the fan and slow it down depending on steam being generate. On my IBM laptop, I can hear the fan speed up and afterwards slow down. I also know desktops do that too.

Could it be that the fan isn't working and afterwards it starts? Be sure to check that too.
Most computers have three cooling fan, one inside the power supply, one on the case itself, and one on the CPU. In copious cases, the fan wants only a drop of grease. Almost any lightweight mechanical grease, such as 3-in-1 household oil, will do of late fine. WD-40 is more designed for something that only moves occasionally, not continuosly. You can pick up a tube of sewing device oil at almost any sewing gadget dealer or even at a stuff store for about lb2 to lb3.
Clogged vent near hanger-on or fan bearing are shot. If you run it all the time, it could be any. Try Microcentres or some oneline sites for a replacement fan, they'r not that firm to put in.
